MISO SALMON WITH SESAME RED CABBAGE

Ingredients

Miso Salmon
  • 300ย gย salmonย two salmon fillets 150 g each
  • 2ย tbspย white miso
  • 2ย tbspย rice wine vinegar
  • 1ย tbspย light soy sauceย or tamari for GF
  • 1ย tbspย honey
Sesame Cabbage
  • 150ย gย cabbageย shredded.
  • 1.5ย tbspย sesame oil
  • 1.5ย tbspย rice wine vinegar
  • 0.5ย light soy sauceย tamari for GF
  • 0.5ย tbspย honey
Extra
  • Sesame seeds
  • Corianderย Cilantro
  • Spring onionsย Scallions
Instructions
  1. Combine miso, rice vinegar, soy sauce, honey and water in a bowl. Whisk until combined.
  2. Place salmon in a plastic bag and pour marinade over it. Leave to marinate minimum 1 hour or overnight.
  3. When you choose to cook the salmon, preheat the oven to 200ยฐC / 392ยฐF. Cook the salmon for 8-10 minutes, or until flakey.*
  4. Take out and leave to rest for 5 minutes.
Sesame Cabbage
  1. Combine sesame oil, rice wine vinegar, soy sauce and honey in a bowl. Whisk until combined. Pour over the shredded cabbage and mix.
  2.     Grilled Cheese & Red Cabbage Sandwiches

    ย Ingredients
    • 4 cups thinly sliced red cabbage
    • 4 tablespoons olive oil
    • 3 tablespoons apricot preserves
    • 3 tablespoons cider vinegar
    • Pinch crushed red pepper
    • 4 tablespoons Dijon mustard
    • 8 slices bread
    • 4 tablespoons horseradish sauce
    • 10 ounces sliced Monterey Jack

    Preparation

    In a skillet, cook cabbage in 3 tbsp. oil over medium until softened, 5 minutes. Stir in next 3 ingredients and cook until liquid is absorbed 4 minutes; season. Spread mustard on 4 slices of bread and horseradish on remaining slices. Build sandwiches with the cabbage, cheese, and bread. Brush out of sandwiches with remaining oil. In a large skillet, cook over medium until cheese melts, 4 minutes per side.

  1. I’m obsessed with the photo of the bowl of cabbage…it’s going into our archives. We often do a food inspired decor post and this one is amazing. Next, I am putting the grilled cheese on our menu plan this week. What a great meal for this busy holiday week. Great post as always!
