In this blog post, i wanna talk for a very special town in Albania named Pogradec it’s just amazing. Pogradec is a town in the east of Albania on the shores of Lake Ohrid.
Overshadowed by its glitzy neighbors on the Macedonian side of the lake, the town of Pogradec has been experiencing a revival recently. The city of Pogradec was settled in the Neolithic period, and it later became home to the Illyrian Enkelejd and Desaret clans, who built the Castle of Pogradec on a hill at 870 m above sea level. The city, with its mild climate, lends itself to year-round visits. Drilon and Tushemisht, just 4-5 km south of the city. The Drilon waters form a small lake, surrounded by beautiful greenery that makes the area and the nearby village of Tushemisht a unique oasis of beauty and tranquility.
The region of Pogradec is rich in striking and distinctive natural and historical monuments. You might visit the natural monument, the Rock of Kamje, which is located in the commune of Dardhas (on the way from Pogradec to Korça, near the village of Osnat). It is 70 m high and suddenly rises out of the surrounding terrain like a “ship sailing in a sea of green.” , The Church of Marena The most visited tourist spots around Lake Ohrid are Lin, Pojskë, Hudenisht and Tushemisht. Don’t forget about the wonderful restaurants in the area, constructed from wood and offering some of the most delicious dishes of the region; don’t miss the Koran fish specialty (Tavë Korani) which order also the queen Elisabeth II of United Kingdom.
The tectonic lake is four million years old and is the deepest of its kind in the Balkans, reaching a maximum depth of 285 meters. The lake environment is a natural habitat for a variety of old flora and fauna. It houses the rare fish “Koran,” a kind of trout, impossible to find in almost any other lake in the world.
Lake Ohrid is part of the Natural and Cultural Heritage List of UNESCO.Pogradec is well known for its famous writers and poets such as Lasgush Poradeciand Mitrush Kuteli, and lately Luan Starova. Their works are a crucial part of Albanian literature. The paths, bridges, swans, ducks, and doves increase the splendor of this dreamy scene. Whispering leaves, bird songs, green fern seedlings and shoots, slow-moving water, boats, ducks, swans groves of weeping willow trees and people’s joyful voices make this place a preferred Albanian destination.
Now time to show a very simple and delicious Albanian recipe also is very easy to prepare.
Ferges with Peppers.
Ingredients:
Green or Red Peppers, half- pound
Red Tomatoes, one pound
Salted Cottage Cheese or Greek Feta Cheese, half-pound
Flour, one tablespoon
Butter, one quarter-pound stick
Virgin Olive Oil, 3 tablespoons
Add Salt, Black Pepper, and Chili Pepper to your taste
Cooking Instructions:
Peel the skin off the tomatoes and peppers. Sauté them in a saucepan for 5-7 minutes only in the olive oil and then set them aside to cool down for 15 minutes. Dice them the way you like. In another saucepan, melt the butter. Add flour, cottage or Feta cheese, and black pepper, salt, and chili pepper to taste. Mix all the ingredients together and place them in a saucepan. Put saucepan in a preheated 350 oven for 15 minutes. Take out and serve immediately.
I am never likely to go there (don’t like airports) but you brought this wonderfully alive

Thank you for all this information! I will note this particular destination and, who knows, maybe I can visit it one day. As for the recipe, I prepare something similar just that instead of flour I put an egg. It looks almost the same and the rest of ingredients are also more or less the same. Cheers!
